Hotel Sint Nicolaas is a 3-star hotel near Centraal Station, popular for its excellent location and good-value rooms. The building is a former mattress factory (they are proud of this) and the rooms are quirky — each one is different. Nothing fancy but the price-to-location ratio is one of the best in central Amsterdam.
